Zhombie left Korea

Holy crap! Zhombie FINALLY left Korea! He actually left last week, on 25 Feb, however I haven't had a chance to update my blog until today. I know he's one happy dude to finally get the fuck outta that shit hole.

I kinda feel bad for Zhombie, considering that I was the one who told him to put in for orders there in the first place. See, he was stuck in an even worse shit hole (Cannon AFB, NM), and had been there since 2008. The only way he was gonna get out of such a miserable location, was to break the glass on the "In case of emergency" box, and take the orders to Korea. Be it a good year, be it a bad year, either way, he was only scheduled to be there for 12 calendar months, and then on to something better, right?

Wrong.

Oh man, did Uncle Scam fuck him up the ass hard and then some! He first made it to Osan, which isn't so bad, considering it has nicer amenities, and Senior NCOs there aren't running around like a bunch of dicks so much. However, he forgot to take Kunsan off his Dream Sheet, and before he knew it, AFPC was sending him down to Kunsan to go play instead. (A similar thing happened to me in 1997, but only in reverse - I went up the street to go play, from Kunsan up to Osan). It was bad enough that they stuck him an additional year in Korea, but in the worst shit hole air base imaginable! And what's worse is that THEY EXTENDED HIM AND EXTRA YEAR!

All together, Z spent 3 years in Korea, completely unplanned for. I figure that AFPC really stands for "Ass-Fucking People's Careers" and not Air Force Personnel Center. We're talking total hella shitty thing to do to someone, just to save a buck. Gotta throw more money away on that worthless F-35, eh Congress?

All I know is that Zhombie and I have both done the Kunsan - Osan - Kunsan thing, and not necessarily because we have a profound love for the Korean culture or the Air Force. Instead, it was trying to make the best of a bad situation, which only made itself worse. I swear, Darth fucking Vader must be the one controlling who PCSes where.

Ultimately I bet Zhombie has become just as screwed up like me from the passive-aggressive abuse that place does to people. I just hope that he likes the new place he's going to, although I've never heard anyone say anything wonderful about Mountain Home, Idaho.

Ugh.
